January 31, 2014 – Bank Robbery

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department reports that on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at approximately 5:10 p.m., a bank robbery occurred at the TEG Federal Credit Union located at 11 Marist Drive in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

A bank teller was approached by a female who produced a note demanding money. The female was described as white with a pale complexion. The suspect female was reported to be approximately twenty-five years of age, thin build, 5’9 – 5’11 in height, wearing dark sunglasses, a long dark jacket with a hood and fur, dark pants and gray gloves. No weapon was threatened or displayed.

The suspect received an undetermined amount of cash and left the area on foot.

There were no reported injuries during this robbery.

January 22, 2014 – Robbery, weapon

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department is investigating a report of an armed robbery that took place January 21, 2014 at approximately 6:40 p.m. at the Smoke-4-Less located at 737 Main Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Two male suspects enter the store both armed with pocket knives and demanded money from the store cashier. The cashier complied and the suspects subsequently left the store on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. There were no injuries reported during the robbery.

The first suspect is described as a light skinned Hispanic male, approximately 5’7′, 20 to 30 years old. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and gray sweatpants. The suspect covered his face with a black ski mask .

The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’9′, heavyset, 30 to 40 years old. He was wearing a blue coat, black pants and black hat. The suspect covered his face with a black scarf.

This robbery is being investigated along with three similar robberies in the City of Poughkeepsie that first occurred on January 16, 2014.

January 9, 2014 – Armed Robbery

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department is investigating a report of an armed robbery that took place on January 10, 2014 at approximately 1:19 a.m. at the Shell Gas Station Mart located at 190 Innis Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

A male suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money from a store cashier. The cashier complied and the suspect subsequently left the store on foot with an undetermined amount of cash and merchandise. There were no injuries reported during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’10’, thin build and 20 to 30 years old. He was wearing a black zippered hooded sweatshirt or jacket, dark colored pants and boots. The suspect covered his face with a blue/white bandanna and was wearing sunglasses.

This robbery is being investigated along with a similar one that occurred on January 8, 2014, at a Stewart’s Shop, 6 Manchester Circle, off Route 55 . Whether one suspect committed both robberies is currently under investigation. Chief Thomas Mauro stated ”we have requested and are receiving investigative assistance including increased patrols from the New York State Police, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department”.

January 9, 2014 –  Armed Robbery

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department is investigating a report of an armed robbery that took place on January 8, 2014 at approx. 9:00pm at the Stewart’s Shop located at 6 Manchester Circle on Rt.55.

A male suspect entered the store, went up to a cashier at the register and demanded money while displaying a handgun. The suspect proceeded to hit the cashier in the face with the handgun. The suspect left the store on foot with an undetermined amount of cash and merchandise.

The suspect is described as a while male, approximately 5’10’ tall, thin build, approximately 25 years old. He was wearing a green jacket with a light colored hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants and brown boots.
