Chief Thomas Mauro

Chief Thomas Mauro holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Marist College and a Master of Professional Studies Degree in Criminal Justice from the C.W. Post Center of Long Island University. He joined the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department in 1976. Since then he has served as a Patrol Officer, a Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant and Patrol Captain. He is a New York State certified Master Instructor and is a founding member of the departments Special Weapons and Tactics Team. He has been Chief of Police since July of 2008.
