Through the hard work of all our police officers and support staff, as well as the support of our Town Administration and Town Board, we have earned the recognition of being one of the most technologically advanced, well equipped, and professionally trained police departments in New York State.

Our implementation of innovative programs such as the Community Policing Officer, School Resource Officer, Field Intelligence Officer, DARE Officer, Neighborhood Watch Program, and College Intern Program, have assisted us in serving our business and residential community. We are fortunate to have ongoing partnerships with Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies, elected representatives, and support service agencies.

The Town of Poughkeepsie is a town with a growing, diverse, and vibrant population that is well known as a great place to raise a family. We take great pride in helping to make our town a safe place to live, work and visit.
